1973 – Centre Taché, St. Boniface, Winnipeg
Architect: Étienne Gaboury, Gaboury Lussier Sigurdson Architects
A nursing and care home designed to replace the old and decaying Taché Hospice of 1911. A Y-shaped plan, with a central service core and three arms providing 200 beds at opening, it has since been expanded in 1976 by Gaboury Lussier Sigurdson Architects and again in 2002 with an addition by Gaboury Préfontaine Perry Architects. It’s most significant portion is the small chapel on the eastern side with a striking window layout and curving stonework.
