Taking the concept of solidity and permanence for a bank branch to the extreme, this was a small building constructed as part of the UCD masterplan by the commissioned architect Andrzej Wejchert. Originally opened March 3rd, 1973, Bank of Ireland lost out in a tender in 1998 to remain the on-campus bank to AIB. AIB took over the building which they operated until 2022.
