1971 – Lions Manor, Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg

The largest seniors’ residence in Canada at the time of completion. This project was constructed in phases, with the northern tower constructed first. Very much part of a wave of a softer modernism, a modernism designed to appeal to a larger audience, finished in brick and concrete. A Brutalist fountain outside the building, was designed by University of Manitoba Professor Denis Wilkinson. Sadly, it is now a centrepiece of a flower bed.
