Also known as the Waterville Beach or Reenroe Hotel, it was built in the late 1960s or early 70s as luxurious hotel in South Kerry. Due to the decline in visitor numbers in the 1970s, the business ceased operations. The hotel was reopened in the 80s/90s but ceased operations again. The building has lain empty since. Now derelict and awaiting redevelopment, the building has a bedroom block separated from the entertainment and recreation areas by a short stubby tower-like structure finished in concrete and rubble stone – giving the appearance of crenellations.

In 2025, permission was sought to partially demolish, restore, and extend the existing derelict hotel, to include 22 self-catering apartments, a bar, dining room, rooftop restaurant, and shop. This was refused by Kerry County Council, a decision upheld in March 2026 after an appeal to An Coimisiún Pleanála.
