1968 – Institute for Industrial Research & Standards, Ballymun, Dublin

The Institute of Research and Standards (IIRS) was established under the Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1946, later amended by the Industrial Research & Standards Act, 1961. Extra floors have been added since completion, and a two storey block was added by the same architects in 1979 to house a technical library and conference facilities. The complex is now called DCU Alpha, an Innovation Centre intended for start-up companies with potential.
