1966 – Swimming Baths, Bray, Co. Wicklow
Architect: Michael Scott & Partners
Replaced an elaborate sea baths for ladies only for the Bray Pavilion Company along Bray seafront of 1880. This public swimming baths by Scott’s office featured an overhanging concrete canopy to create an external shelter on the promenade. Never one of the firm’s celebrated works, it had a small budget, it became derelict in the 80s, and a much discussed eyesore, and finally it was demolished.
