1966 – Penthouse Grill, Great Southern Hotel, Galway
Architect: Brendan Ellis & G.P. O’Shea
Top floor restaurant on the original wing of the Great Southern Hotel in Galway, Originally a railway hotel attached to what is now Ceannt Station, a wing was added in the early 60s which now looks fairly grim perched on narrow concrete stilts over a roadway. This restaurant on the top floor of the original building with views over the city must have been quite the hotspot in its time.
