The foundation stones for Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church were laid in September 1964. The church was formally opened by the Moderator, the Rev Dr James Dunlop on 29 May 1965. This church has been described as a tent, the form of the roof suggesting a communal gathering under canvas. Apart from the adjacent hall, which was erected later, the building has two elements – the “tented” roof and the courtyard entrance through the base of the campanile. The interior is muted, with modest and unadorned materials – painted brick walls, pine boarded ceiling, and polished concrete floor – reflects the simplicity and clarity of the external form. The screen behind the pulpitis modelled in concrete and coated with a bronze finish.
