32 South Mall is the Munster headquarters for the Bank of Ireland. The building is of five storeys and underwent a substantial refurbishment in 2008. Accommodation included a retail banking hall at ground floor level and an additional four floors of office space with a separate access overhead via a fully glazed stairwell expressed externally on the building. The redevelopment meant the replacement of the original glazing, addition of brise soleil, extension to the stairwell tower, and changes to the street level facades externally as well as upgrades to the services and interiors. Designed by Kenneth Kiersey who was head architect of Bank of Ireland Group.
