1961 – Scottish Provident Building, Edinburgh

Architect: Rowand Anderson, Kininmonth & Paul

A fine office block on St Andrews Square with office accommodation defined as the horizontal elements and a vertical services tower. Despite being over forty years old, this office block was well maintained and still looked fresh and contemporary. This is probably due to the simplicity of the materials used; the stone and the blue-hued glass. However market values are the enemy, the building was delisted, and demolished in 2014.
