1960 – Charterhouse Motor Hotel, York Avenue, Winnipeg

Still an hotel today, the Charterhouse has been renovated several times and bears little resemblance to its original appearance. Upon opening the hotel had 100 rooms, a public pool, coffee shop, cocktail lounge and bar, a rooftop garden and parking for 200 cars. Extra floors have been added but the continuous balconies on the west side still remain.
