1959 – Chapel of St. Louis le Roi, St. Boniface, Winnipeg

Étienne Gaboury was the lead designer of this former Roman Catholic Church while still at Libling Michener. The exterior is dominated by two canted planes, the roof and the main facade. The sloped main facade is pierced by several windows, the majority of interior light is via small windows under the eaves. The main entrance is to one side, recessed into the south side. Originally the exterior finished with clear cedar, sadly now painted grey. A winner of a Silver Medalist in the 1961 Massey Awards in Architecture, the entire building now looks rather dilapidated and uncared for.
