200,000-square-foot of office space over six floors, the former Manitoba Hydro head office is best described as sprawling. Originally constructed in 1958, it was extended a couple of times in the early 1960s with extra floors added to the southern block achieving this its final form in 1967. Closed when Manitoba Hydro moved their employees from around the city to a new tower, Manitoba Hydro Place on Portage Avenue in 2009.
