1958 – Elephant House, Dublin Zoo, Phoenix Park, Dublin

Double height modernist building designed as an enclosure for elephants. It was intended as a replacement for the old giraffe house which had previously been used. Animal welfare was different at this time so there were little in the way of specialist architects for a project like this. This could have been a design for anything from a school gym to a telephone exchange.
