Architect: Auguste Perret

From 1945 to 1964, the City of Le Havre commissioned Auguste Perret to lead the rebuilding of the entire city after it had been completely destroyed during the Second World War . Constructed in concrete, the church’s central tower resembling a lantern, dominates the city skyline. It is 107 meters tall and acts as a beacon visible from out at sea, especially at night when illuminated. The stained glass by Marguerite Huré of 12,768 multicoloured hand-blown stained-glass windows creates an incredible effect inside the church.
