Designed to seat 300, this small modern church, on a remote site, was built in the Marian year of 1954. Designed on a tight budget of just 3,600, the exterior is finished with painted roughcast rendered walls and a projecting rubble sandstone panel to the centre of the south elevation. Brendan O’Connor was a Dublin architect who designed houses in the International Modern style in Dublin in the late 1930s. Remarkably despite its small budget, the church largely looks the same today.
