Architect: William F. Gardiner
Constructed as a branch of the Bank of Toronto and now an art gallery. The building has a simplified, smooth exterior and large corporate emblem above the chamfered corner entrance. One of the last buildings of Vancouver architect William F. Gardiner, who was known for providing restrained modernist designs for his corporate clients.
Now known as the Legacy Art Gallery, it is the University of Victoria’s downtown exhibition space. Used for showcasing contemporary art of the Pacific Northwest and art and artifacts from the Gallery’s extensive permanent collection.
