1950 – Former Bairns-Wear Factory, Armagh, Co. Armagh
Architect: Thomas Rippingham
Initially built as an advance factory by the Northern Ireland Ministry of Commerce as office and hostel block for Bairns-Wear Ltd. Bairns-Wear Ltd were a Nottinghamshire based company, later a subsidiary of Courtaulds. The end of the office block has a curved staircase bay linking the two floors. Only the brown brick office block survives, the vast sawtooth-roofed workfloor was demolished for smaller units. Currently it is the Armagh Business Centre.
