1937 – Rio Theatre / Grand Theatre, Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg
Originally constructed as the Province Theatre offering both vaudeville and films. This closed in 1937 with the interior and exterior remodelled in a more fashionable style – the old Province being an eclectic architectural confection. Reopened as the Rio in 1938, renamed the Grand in 1950, and finally closed in the early 1960s. Demolished along with the adjoining Bank of Toronto and is now a plaza in front of a skyscraper.
