1929 – Security Storage Building, 725 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Canada

Architect: John N. Semmens

725-portage

Unusual looking building until you realise it was designed as a strongroom, a building for security storage. Designed to engender faith in the company by appearing solid and respectable, the building has a nice neo-gothic main entrance. The main office area was in the centre of the main floor and the interior, like a bank, featured Italian marble counters, walnut trim, and designer furniture. In use for many years as a printworks.
