1927 – The Sherry-Netherland Hotel, New York

At streetlevel the hotel seems to be a large formidable mass but eventually narrows for the tower where each floor has only one apartment. The spirelike top with French Chateau influences houses the water tower, topped by a perched observation balcony with fleche at 173.5 m.
