1926 – Eaton’s Warehouse, 130 Galt Avenue, Winnipeg

Occupying an entire block in the Exchange District, this vast warehouse was built for the T. Eaton Company in two stages. The architect John Woodman also worked for Eaton’s on their department store and mail order warehouses in Winnipeg. This was constructed over mid 1926 and late 1927. In total it encloses 278,709 square metres of interior space and accommodated a printing plant and warehouse. The building is finished in brick with limestone trimmings and is designed with Art Deco motifs.
