1922 – Grosvenor School, Winnipeg, Manitoba

In 1922, the Winnipeg School Division built four new schools. They included Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Faraday School, and David Livingstone. The only one built in the South District was situated on the corner of Grosvenor Avenue and Guelph Street. The schools were designed by the same architect – Col. J.N. Semmons and he was well-known for his brick and stone stylings in Gothic design. It was a 12 room, two story, “soundly constructed” building with Canadian products of Fort William tapestry brick and local buff Tyndall limestone. The total cost of construction was $68,085.01.
