From The Building News, October 8 1920: “We illustrate from this year’s Royal Academy Exhibition the Picture House and Winter Garden which it is proposed to erect in Clayton Square, Liverpool. The elevations are to be faced externally with Portland stone, and the frieze is enriched with coloured terra cotta. The architect is Mr. Robert Atkinson, F.R.I.B.A., of 36, Bedford Square, London, W.C.”
