1920 – Molsons Bank, Market Square, Hamilton, Ontario
Architect: Phillip J. Turner
An older building refaced with the upper floor removed internally to create a taller and more impressive banking hall. Demolished.
“The office is twenty- three feet high, whereas previously it was only twelve feet. An interesting feature in this office is the mezzanine floor and gallery containing rooms for the staff and additional working space for the office. The alterations were made whilst the business of the office was being carried on, all work on the ceiling and upper portions of banking room being completed before the middle floor was removed.”
