Designed by the Belfast firm Blackwood & Jury who designed quite a few branches for the Ulster Bank Co. Closed since their winddown of their business in the Republic of Ireland. The facade is finished in Ruabon bricks on the upper floors, with limestone at street levels. Kilkenny has many narrow alleys or ‘slips’ and here the neighbouring alley is integrated into the design of the street level façade. Columns of polished limestone frame a gateway through into the alleyway alongside. The Bank’s Arms are used to frame a circular window in the top floor gable.
