1912 – Canadian Bank of Commerce, Waterloo, Ontario
Architect: Victor Daniel Horsburgh
“The branch at Waterloo, Ontario, is mainly notable for the emphasis given to the entrance doorway and the unassuming treatment of the other parts of the front.”
Typical of the smaller designs by Horsburgh for the Bank of Commerce across Canada. Many smaller towns received an almost domestically scaled building, but one still displaying the architectural presence and stability demanded by the bank. Still a bank branch today.
