With a long sandstone and brick elevation to the street, this three-storey office block was built in stages between 1900-1912. The building was the administration and drawing office centre for the Harland & Wolff shipyard. The block is composed of four main sections built at various dates, but are unified by being of the same height, topped with a balustraded parapet and appear to be built of the one material. The largest section is to the centre and left and contains the main entrance doorway. It is faced in red sandstone. This is flanked by smaller sections faced in brick, and to the far right is a another sandstone section, in the same style as the entrance section. The oldest sections are the two magnificent drawing offices to the rear which were retained during construction of this block. The offices of Lord Pirrie, Thomas Andrews, and Alexander Carlisle were also located in this building. The headquarters building remained in use by Harland & Wolff until October 1989. Now a hotel.
