1909 – Ambassador Apartments, 379 Hargrave, Winnipeg

Designed as an upscale apartment block, this building has an elegant curving corner on a wedge-shaped plot, and is finished in a buff-coloured brick. Originally containing 60 suites of various sizes, communal facilities including a top floor restaurant and smoking lounge were envisaged. The restaurant was never completed, and by the late 1920s, the basement and the smoking lounge had been converted to further suites.
