1905 – Irish Rifles Memorial, Belfast
Architect: Elkington & Co / Sculptor: Sydney March

In the grounds of City Hall, a statue of a private of the Irish Rifles commemorates the 132 soldiers of the Royal Irish Rifles who gave their lives in the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). Monument designed and executed by Elkington & Co. The figure, sculpted by by Sydney March, stands on a massive boulder, below which is the plinth, which stands on four steps, around the top of the plinth is a belt of bronze panels, with figures at each corner representing War, Victory, Death, and Fame.
