Originally constructed in 1903 by Winnipeg architect James H. Cadham, then enlarged in 1911 by James J. McDiarmid. Also known as the Ralph Connor Church, after Reverend Charles W. Gordon, who wrote novels under the pseudonym Ralph Connor. This building originally housed the congregation of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, becoming St. Stephen’s United Church after the unification of the Methodist and Presbyterian faiths in Canada. In 1927, the congregation merged with that of Broadway Methodist and moved to that building. St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church was sold in to become an Elim Pentecostal Church which it remains today.
