1903 – 111 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg

Architect: James H. Cadham

225-lombard

Fantastic warehouse in the almost ubiquitous yellow brick with stone dressings that characterises much of this part of the Exchange. Sensitively upgraded with glazing that allows the form of the masonry walls to stand out. Post and beam wooden interior structure. Also known as the Kemp or Gaylord Building, the architect James H. Cadham was a self-trained architect from Ontario. The building was extended by the same designer in 1906.
