Large Arts & Crafts house in an area of some of the best examples of such houses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
“The walls of this house are covered with Portland cement rough-cast, and it is roofed with Westmorland slate. The dining-room is panelled with oak, the hall with some very beautiful English cedar. The builders were Messrs. Kingerlee & Son, of Oxford. The garden was laid out by Miss Jekyll. Mr. E.W. Mountford is the architect.”
