1899 – Former Fire Station, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin

The Municipal Building on George’s Place was erected in 1899, and comprised a fire station, in which some of the firemen lived, a storehouse for the Urban Council, and stables for their horses. Now in use as an enterprise centre, the former Fire Station of the Borough is less ornate than similar buildings being constructed in Dublin city centre at this time, notably those by C.J McCarthy who was the city architect. Ceased use as a fire station in 1992.
