Architect: Alfred A. Forman as Forman & Aston
Unusual and elaborate Methodist Church – the octagonal body of the church is obscured by the main facade and other elements added to create and elaborate whole. The building is rendered and painted in several colours enhancing the effect. Sadly the spire and fleche have been removed.
Forman & Aston was a local partnership of Alfred A. Forman, an Australian architect, who worked around the British Empire. Forman’s Irish work includes the former Northern Counties Hotel in Derry which has a distinctly Australian Victorian feel about it.
