1898 – Kings James Grammar School, Knaresborough, Yorkshire

The school was founded in 1616 as King James Grammar School with a charter from King James I. “This design was placed first in open competition by the professional assessor appointed by the governors. The building will not be carried out in its entirety, the author” being now engaged upon modified drawings. The buildings are to be erected in red pressed bricks, with stone dressings to windows and doors, and the technical building will be detached from the main block. Sir. George H. Barrowcliff, of Loughborough, is the architect. ” Published in The Building News, July 5 1898.
