Described in The Building News, April 1 1898 as “Mr. Philip E. Pilditch is the architect of this building, of which no further particulars have reached us.” which sounds a little passive aggressive to us. According to AHRnet, P.E. Pilditch appears not to have qualified as an architect, which may explain the tone.
