After the First World War, two storeys were added to the building, and converted to civic offices, changing the appearance of the building. Before extension it was quite an attractive and function civic building with outdoor loading bays covered by an overhanging roof, and a double height hall inside. The main entrance was marked by a small tower. Demolished in 1964, along with the old City Hall to make way for the City Hall – Centennial Centre urban renewal project which included a new City Hall Winnipeg’s third, Public Safety Building and Civic Parkade.
