Alternative design for church which Doolin was designing for Castlemaine. The design chosen and constructed opened in 1900. Known as Kiltallagh church, it is sited a few kilometres from Castlemaine.

“WE publish in our present issue a perspective drawing of an alternative design for the above church, for the Rev. James Counihan, P.P., by Mr. Walter G. Doolin, architect, Dawson street, Dublin.The materials proposed to be used were local red sandstone, with limestone for the dressings. The design adopted is also by Mr. Doolin, and it is a church cruciform in plan. Building operations will shortly commence.” The Irish Builder, August 15 1896.
