1894 – Designs for Villas, Windsor, Belfast

Architect: William Batt

0001

Design for a pair of semi-detached villas for the Windsor area of Belfast.

THESE superior villas occupy a very fine position in this favourite district of the city. The front is well broken up by projections, as also the line of roof. They are faced with best perforated brick, and the cornices and strings consist of ornamental ones of the newest make, and together with the terracotta panels in frieze and upper key-stones, were supplied by the Annadale Brick Company, Belfast. The arch stones, keys, caps, and bases to entrance- doors, copings, &c. , of gables are freestone from Dumfries quarries, and shafts of columns grey granite polished. The reception-rooms are lofty and spacious, and the villas will be fitted up with sanitary and other appliances of the most recent description. A large single villa is also in course of erection for the same owner close to these, and it is expected they will all be completed and ready for occupation about next April. The two contracts are being executed by Messrs. J. and W. Stewart, of Belfast.
