1893 – Queen’s Hotel, Montreal, Quebec
Architect: A.F. Dunlop
Demolished in 1988 after it had been empty since 1977. The red sandstone façade was once an imposing presence at St-Jacques and Peel Street. Built in the 1890s, it was “one of the most magnificent examples of 19th-century architecture in the city,” according to Joshua Wolfe of Heritage Montreal.
