1888 – Winnipeg Lodging & Coffee House, Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg
Architect: Charles H. Wheeler
The Winnipeg Lodging and Coffee House, initiated in 1894 by Holy Trinity Church, provided meals and lodging for destitute men. Coffee Houses or Taverns usually indicated temperance movement establishments. This building on Lombard was replaced in 1906 when a new building was constructed on Logan Avenue to a design by Darling, Pearson and Over. Designed by local architect C.H. Wheeler, who also designed Holy Trinity Church.
