Architect: Victor Dutocq & Charles Simonet

Perspective View published in The Architect, January 2nd 1886. The foundation stone for the new building was laid on 2 June 1882. It was designed by Victor Dutocq and Charles Simonet in the Renaissance Revival style, built in ashlar stone and was officially opened by the prefect of the Seine, Eugène Poubelle, on 16 January 1886 Largely complete as designed except for the decorative central tower.
