Designed by local architect James Chisholm as mixed retail and office space for merchants Edward and Annie E. Maycock. Multiple tenants and uses over the years included the Young Men’s Christian Association. Residential apartments were added into the upper floors in 1902. Later the main floor was completely taken over by the Canadian Bank of Commerce. The bank occupied the building until the late 1970s. The building has a visually prominent and remarkably overhanging cornice.
