1883 – Design for Post Office, Dundalk, Co. Louth
A design for Nos. 75-76 Clanbrassil Street in Dundalk. Published in The Irish Builder, December 15 1883.
“Our illustration in present issue is the reproduction of a design for the rebuilding of Nos. 75 and 76 Clanbrassil-street, Dundalk, with a view to its being adopted by the Government as a Crown post office, for which purpose it is admirably adapted. Should it, however, be found impossible to come to terms with the authorities, it is proposed to adapt it for business purposes by simply lowering the bottoms of the windows to a suitable level. It is intended to be built with Kingscourt red facing bricks, all the arches, pilasters, cornices, &c., to be carried out in red terracotta.”
