“This neat residence of which we give a perspective view, has been erected for J.H. Reid, Esq., from the designs and under the superintendence of MR. G.P. Beater, Dawson-street. It is built of red Bridgewater brick, with granite dressings, and bands, etc., of red sandstone. It contains three sittingrooms, five bedrooms, bathrooms etc. Dining and drawing-rooms are 24ft.6in. by 18ft., and 12ft.6in high, and are in the back of the house, commanding magnificent views of the Dublin mountains. Mr. James P. Pile, of 30 Upper Abbey-street, is contractor for entire of the work.” Published in The Irish Builder,August 15 1881.
