Placed design in competition to design a new grammar school. “The drawing which we illustrate this week was sent in competition for the Newbury Grammar- schools under the motto “Propria qure maribus.” It was proposed to build it of red bricks with terra-cotta dressings, and the roofs covered with Penmoyle sea-green slates. The architect is Mr. J. Martin Brooks, 35, Wellington-street, Strand.”
