Unsuccessful competition entry in competition adjudicated by Walter G. Doolin. Eventually known as St. Vincent’s Home. “With this number we publish the perspective view of the design for the new buildings at Cabra, in connection with the North Dublin Union, submitted in competition by Messrs. William J. Fennell and Ernest Cochrane, architects, Belfast. The building was designed to accommodate 500 children, together with attendants’ quarters, hospital, &c. The architects’ estimate was £12,000.”
