1879 – House, Chapel-Hill, Derry
Architect: Frederick H. Godwin
Born in Donegal, Frederick H. Godwin and his elder brother, William Arthur Godwin, were working in the London office of his uncle Edward W. Godwin. Unfortunately, in 1871 he was sent home in disgrace before he was formally indentured.
Described and illustration published in The Irish Builder:”This house contains: diningroom, 17ft. by 11ft. 6in.; parlour, 11ft. 6in. by 10ft.; kitchen and pantry on ground floor; and four bedrooms and w.c. in upper floors. The cost has been under £300. Mr. M.Kane, of Waterside, was the contractor.”
