1878 – Design for South City Markets, Dublin

Competition design for South City Markets on Great Georges Street in Dublin. Like the second placed entry by O’Neill & Byrne, Drew’s design featured a vast glass and iron canopy over an internal market area. Published in The Irish Builder, February 15 1879.

“Our illustration is an interior view of the South City Markets, as designed in competition by Mr. Thomas Drew, R.H.A. The original sketch having been in pencil, and from other causes, the photo-lithograph has not turned out as clear as we would have wished.”
